Fire Dancing πŸ”₯ Hiring VAs and Youth Empowerment! πŸ’ͺ

Hey there, Hannah here!

We've had a lot of stormy nights here in Guanajuato, but nothing can rain on DNK's parade. πŸ’ƒ This month, we are gearing up for an incredible free training class with more than 600 (🀯) signups already, and we have in-person meetups on the horizon too! Today, I'm coming in hot with some thoughts on visibility, hiring VAs, AI fears, and we're celebrating a new cohort of our youth program. Read on!

πŸ”₯ Hot Tip: Why You Should Repeat Yourself!

In the Virtual Excellence Academy, we have a class covering career sustainability as a VA or freelancer. Among the many topics, we dove into social media and how we show up online. When you're running a business, you have to talk about it. πŸ—£οΈ

Whether it's VAs, freelancers, or budding solopreneurs, many struggle with the idea of repeating themselves, constantly reinventing the wheel to churn out more fresh new content daily. Burning out slowly but surely... 😫

πŸ—£οΈ But my hot tip of the day is to "say it again for the people in the back!" Not everyone will see your posts when you release them, so you should repeat yourself and do it often for visibility's sake alone. What you repeat is what you become known for, and what you're known for becomes your brand. You become a trusted source for that thing.

Your brand is more than a logo and a color palette; it's also your messaging. (VEA peeps: Don't miss the masterclass on branding coming up in the VEA next week) Your brand identity is what people think about you, what they believe about you, the values you stand by, and more. Businesses build slogans to repeat and stick in people's minds. ("Just Do It.”)

If you feel stuck when it comes to showing up online, I encourage you to decide on content pillars for your business - these are your talking points, the heart of your messaging. This is how you showcase your knowledge and authority. It helps establish a sense of trust between you and your audience, an ode to your dedication, expertise, and unwavering dependability.

These content pillars are topics that you'll want to expand on and REPEAT again and again. Because this is how you'll attract those dreamy, aligned clients!

Ideally, you'll have three to five content pillars to give yourself some range.

Let's take my own pillars as an example. If you look at my channels, I'm always talking about:

πŸŽ“ Freelancing, VAs & career autonomy: how to build a sustainable online career, find great clients, earn well, and create more freedom and flexibility through your work.

🌍 Unconventional work & life: remote work, digital nomad life, rejecting the traditional career ladder, and designing a life around what actually works for you.

🀝 Community, belonging & better leadership: how we create spaces where people feel seen, supported and connected, and why community can be such a powerful force in both business and life.

πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆ Inclusion, access & doing business differently: ethical pay, better hiring, diversity, accessibility, queer and neurodivergent experiences, and building businesses that actually reflect our values.

πŸ”₯ Building your own damn thing: imperfect action, entrepreneurship, reinvention, visibility, learning as you go, trusting yourself, and creating opportunities instead of waiting for permission.

These topics attract my ideal audience, and I don't have to stress about coming up with something new to share online.

Showing up on multiple social media platforms can be time-consuming and off-putting for many. Ease the burden by:

  1. Sticking to 1-2 platforms you can commit to, and
  2. Repeating yourself.

People consume so much on social media every day. You'll quickly be forgotten if they see a post you did once and never again.

My business wouldn't be where it is now if I only talked about things once; people wouldn't know how the VEA or I could serve them without repetition.

πŸ”₯ REPETITION DOESN'T NEED TO BE BORING!

🧠 A moment to let the imagination run wild:
If you'd like, instead of considering your topics "pillars," you might consider them as πŸ”₯ flames πŸ”₯, and you, a πŸ’ƒ flame dancerπŸ•Ί.
You can throw your flames into many magical shapes and displays while keeping them close. At times, one might go out, and you can ignite another.
We evolve as humans; the concept of a pillar gives the sense of forever-ness, so in my brain, I like to consider my topics as my flames. Knowing that they may be exchanged as time goes by, just as my messaging will change as I learn and grow, and that there's oh so much to play with in how I present them to my audience.
Perhaps this visual works better for you too 😊

You don't have to wait for a #ThrowbackThursday.

Hop into your AI of choice, or grab a thesaurus and flex those wordsmith fingers to come up with many different ways to impart the same messages. Showing up consistently online isn't always about setting a schedule to post three times a week.

It's also about consistency in your messaging. πŸ”₯

πŸ“° Youth Empowerment Through VA Training in Bosnia & Herzegovina & Montenegro

This week, we’re elated to be welcoming a new cohort of 12 amazing individuals in Bosnia & Herzegovina and Montenegro to our Youth VA Program with MaNaBu Movement.

One of my biggest aspirations has always been for our VA training to open meaningful self-employment opportunities, regardless of where someone lives, helping people build autonomy, financial independence, and choice.

The Youth VA Program is a social-impact initiative designed to give young people with limited access to traditional career opportunities practical VA, remote work, and client-acquisition skills, opening access to international work that might otherwise feel out of reach.

This continued collaboration with Youth Empowerment NGO, MaNaBu Movement, is such a meaningful extension of that mission, and I’m so excited to see what this new cohort goes on to build.✨

We'll be sharing more about this cohort over the coming months, and letting you know how you can work with this young talent!

🌯 That's a Wrap

Thanks for reading, friends! Be sure to connect and share your experiences with me. You can follow me on the gram to see what I'm up to in the moment.

Cheers,

Hannah

Hey friends, Hannah here πŸ‘‹ I wanted to write you a newsletter about how I killed it on stage, about all the business and life hacks we learned, about the networking that was done so smoothly, and how it all translated into better, faster, cooler, newer things for me and how you, too, can apply these learnings. That’s what you write about off the heels of a week-long conference, right? πŸ€” The thing is, I did kill it on stage, I did meet great people, I even learned a thing or two. But that’s...

Hi there, Hannah here :) First, a HUGE welcome to those of you who joined the Virtual Excellence Academy during our Sept/Oct intake. I’m so excited to walk with you on this journey! πŸŽ‰ For those who missed this intake, the VEA waitlist is now open for our next one, and I also have some exciting upcoming events and ways we can hang out, learn and work together, which I’ll share with you shortly. But for now, I’ve woken up today in a new country. Or rather, an old country. My country of birth,...

Hey friends, Hannah here πŸ‘‹ Let me ask you a question... did you wake up this morning with a knot in your stomach? 😣 Maybe it started last Sunday evening, when the light began to fade, and that familiar dread crept in, reminding you that the tiny window of time that belonged to you was closing and another week of alarms, commutes, meetings, emails, small talk, and waiting for Friday was about to begin. Maybe you sat in traffic this morning watching hundreds of other tired people inch towards...
