Hi friends, Hannah here 👋 Every now and then, someone will look at my content and think:
“Hannah, you are being so dramatic. It’s just a 9-to-5. It’s just a job. Calm down.” They think talking about the corporate world in terms of “captivity,” “hostage situations,” and “being robbed of your soul” is a bit much. But when you’ve been where I’ve been, and you’ve seen what I’ve seen, you develop a hyper-vigilant level of pattern recognition. And once you see the patterns, you can’t unsee them. Before I built a business that allowed me to travel the world, before I coached 45,000+ other people to do the exact same thing, I was surviving a severe DV situation where my freedoms and community were entirely stripped. Statistically, it takes an average of seven attempts for someone to leave an abusive relationship. It took me five. I used to joke that maybe that makes me a “high achiever” in the world of escaping abuse. Or maybe it just makes me a statistic of how brutally hard it is to break free when you are or feel trapped.
🧬 But once I finally got away, something shifted permanently in my DNA. I made a promise to myself: I will never allow myself to be imprisoned by anything ever again. 🧬
And then, I looked out at the normal, everyday 9-to-5 world… and the patterns were similar in some ways - not always, but prevalent enough, especially in corporate. I realized that we aren’t just subject to being trapped by individual people and circumstances. We can be trapped by a society that feeds on our fears, and a system that keeps us perpetually waiting for some “around the corner” milestone that is forever dangled just out of reach.
Meanwhile, it’s Sunday night. You have a literal, physical knot in your stomach - that heavy, acidic nausea because you know what tomorrow brings. You wake up Monday morning already exhausted, wondering how you’re going to mask your burnout for another five days. No, not all 9-to-5s are a trap. Some are with genuinely great employers who value their employees as humans, not as numbers. If you are in a job that you love, this is not to say quit and F the system entirely. But it is to say, what else do you desire, and what's in your way of bringing that to the surface? ....So when I say “what are you waiting for?” when talking about enrolling in the Virtual Excellence Academy, it’s not a sales tactic. 🫶 It’s me earnestly speaking to younger me, and hoping, in turn, to inspire as many as possible to do the things that set their soul on fire, to forge their own way in a world hellbent on having us conform to fit someone else's agenda. To arm themselves with a toolkit that builds resilience and longevity in an unstable job market. To not have to seek permission for a goddamn bathroom break. On average, we only get about 4,000 weeks alive on this planet.4,000. That’s it. And I am so dramatic and passionate about this because I refuse to watch brilliant people hand those weeks over to a corporation that doesn't give two craps. This is your life. It’s time to stop waiting. It’s time to be a high achiever when it comes to reclaiming your time, your peace, your artistry, and your human exuberance. Now, is it always going to be easy building a business? No, absolutely not. It takes real work, brick by brick. But you know what is a whole lot easier? Resting your head on the pillow at night knowing that you did your best for you, for your family, and for your own desires - not someone else’s agenda. Knowing you created the conditions that were best for you with the resources you have. If you are ready to stop waiting for permission, stop looking at their corners, and start reclaiming your absolute sovereignty, I built a space specifically to help you do it with others who also want to do things differently, and for themselves. 📌 The Virtual Excellence Academy is officially open for enrollment right now.

Hey friends, Hannah here 👋 This week, I learned some uncomfortable lessons I feel called to share. In short, I learned that when something threatens my dogs, my inner mostly-vegan animal lover disappears VERY quickly. 👀 Earlier this week, I was walking my dogs when a large street dog, newly in the neighborhood, lunged at us repeatedly, trying to take a bite out of my little guy, Nando. Nando's cute face I screamed so loud my throat still hurts, tried to scare it away, and somewhere in the few...
Hey there, Hannah here 👋 You'd never guess it, but I was a keen runner years ago, especially back when I was living in picturesque Sardinia. It felt easy to run there, with endless trails right outside my door and even more endless stunning views to keep me in awe. Sardinia is the second-largest island in the Mediterranean, and one of the things that makes this Italian island so special is the fact that part of it is considered one of the world’s best-known Blue Zones. 💙 Blue Zones are...
Hey friends, Hannah here 👋 Can I tell you about one of the biggest f&!k-ups of my career? Many years ago, I messed something up for a client. And when I say messed up, I don’t mean I sent an email with the wrong link or missed a deadline. I messed up royally. Badly enough that the right thing to do was refund the client, and it was a lot of money - the most I had ever handled in my entire professional career at once. There was just one slight problem: I didn’t have the money. 😬 I was still...
