When was YOUR moment?

Hey there, it’s Hannah. :)

I watched the new Netflix dinosaur series this week, and it left me thinking about something much bigger than prehistoric creatures.

When you zoom out and look at the history of life on Earth, it’s staggering, really. Dinosaurs ruled this planet for around 165 million years. Entire ecosystems and civilizations rose and disappeared long before we ever showed up. Then one day, an asteroid hits, and the climate changes, and just like that, the dominant species on Earth: gone. If you watched the show, here's a laugh for free: I cried when the T. rex was laid out in the cold 🥶☄️

It’s all a humbling reminder of the vastness and fragility of life.

We are here for such a tiny blip of time.

We spend so much of that tiny window bending ourselves around rules largely invented by other humans from times, places, and experiences that don't match our personal realities.

Rules about work. Rules about where we’re supposed to live. Rules about what success should look like. Rules about the “right” way to structure a life. Rules about who and how to love. But when you step back far enough, it becomes obvious how flexible, and even, dare I say, insignificant, all of it actually is.

You can move abroad. You can build a career online. You can work from a beach, a mountain town, a small apartment in a city you love, or you can move entirely off-grid! You can leave the relationships that make your life feel less-than, you can surround yourself with people who lift you up, and wear whatever you want. You can dance at the grocery store, you can grow your own groceries. And that's just the start! You can quit the script entirely and write your own.

More good people making good use of their free will is what the world needs right now. So here are some questions I’ve been sitting with personally that I now extend to you:

How old were you when the veil started to lift? And what will you do with your blip, your small, miraculous time here on Earth?

When did you realize that many of the rules were made up…and that life is far more flexible than we were conditioned to believe?

Was there a moment? A trip? A job you left? A decision that changed the direction of your life?

And once you saw it…what came next?

I’d love to hear your story. The best place to share your answers and connect with others who are unplugging from the "rules" is in the comments on my latest Instagram post.

And if you haven't already, join our public Facebook group where we have a "who the hell am I series" that I invite you to join in on!

Next week, I am going to be coming hot with some brand new tips and concepts for mastering your freelance game - so that you can continue to build your bold, beautiful, unconventional life 🙌

Until then!

Hey friends! Hannah here, obviously 😎 🙌 I'm going to get real with you today, and talk about the thing a lot of people won't. Trading time for money works... until it doesn't. There's a better, or rather, elevated model. For many VAs and freelancers charging by the hour feels logical (and it DOES often make sense in the beginning when you are still understanding the lay of the land). You do the work, you count the hours, you send the invoice. Easy peasy. But here's the thing many don't want...

Hey there, it’s Hannah. :) I've been thinking a bit about how most new freelancers start on Upwork or Fiverr. I forget at times that this is still pretty much the first exposure many have to working online, and that for some, it's where their entire business lives. And that's fine - in the beginning! I started there too, though on a different platform that no longer exists - showing my age. My first-ever gig was for $5 (I know, I know), and I quickly decided this was not how I would proceed...

Hey there, it's Hannah. :) Something I've been thinking about lately is how easy it is to get swept up in whatever is new, loud, and trending in the business world. Sometimes it's fun, and even useful to do so, but othertimes, it's just taking us away from the stuff that works. Every week, there's a new thing we're supposed to master. A new platform to jump on. A new guru explaining that the old way of doing things is "dead". Sell this way, launch that way, use this AI tool, post on this...
